1. Digital RMB testing continues to expand, may be used for cross-border payments
On April 2, the head of the Research Bureau of the People's Bank of China, Wang Xin, stated that digital RMB will mainly be used for domestic retail payments. Testing has been conducted in multiple provinces and the testing scenarios are becoming more solid. The digital RMB may also be used for cross-border payments when the conditions are ripe and market demand is met. With the development of DCEP technology and the improvement of payment circulation environment, IT systems of financial institutions will take the lead in implementing this technology. In terms of payment scenarios, supporting facilities such as upgraded ATMs and POS machines will gradually become available.
2. Shenzhen's mobile tax platform launches "Invoice Easy" function for online issuance of blockchain electronic invoices
Shenzhen's mobile tax platform recently launched the "Invoice Easy" function, which allows businesses to issue blockchain electronic invoices online. "Invoice Easy" eliminates the need for approval and purchasing of invoices, and simplifies the entire process by allowing businesses to apply for increased credit limits after facial verification. Since August 2018, the blockchain electronic invoice system has been providing invoice services 24/7, and as of the end of March 2021, more than 47 million blockchain electronic invoices have been issued in Shenzhen with a total amount exceeding 60 billion yuan. The daily issuance of blockchain electronic invoices surpasses 120,000.
